Rimmel Scandaleyes eye shadow stick

The scandaleyes kohl has been raved about like crazy, but how about this little guy?

This waterproof eye shadow stick from Rimmel is incredibly smooth to apply. It gives a nice base for eyeshadow and this color, which by the way is Guilty Grey 004, makes a great base for a smokey eye.

To be honest, I don't think it's anything new, but I will say, that if you are in the market for these and you don't yet have any, this is a nice buy. Why? It's cheap, it's really really smooth and it applies beautifully.

On me (I have very oily lids) it lasts as a base for around 14 hours, maybe 16 on a good day (not the 24 hours it claims, but very few other than the maybeline color tatoos do stay on me at all!). Just give it a minute to dry and it'll stay in place for you.

You can get them around 6-7 pounds in your local drugstore.

Rimmel Apocalips lips lacquer !

I've read soooo many reviews about this product. Everybody is raving about it, telling me how good it is, how pigmented and how moisturizing it is.

I must admit, they're right! I swatched them in the store and oh my gosh they are the most pigmented lip gloss like products I've seen in a looong time. Acutally, they aren't they a lip gloss. They aren't sticky at all (I like sticky glosses though because of the moisture in them), but still super great at giving just the right amount of moisture in one single coat.

I chose the color 201 Solstice (kind of sounds like sofisticated). It is a lighter berry color with a shimmer too it. It looks super glamorous on the lips and when it's gone it still leaves a pretty sheen.

Packaging is great. It's black with a beautiful lid. It does look drugstore, but it looks like pretty drugstore.

You can buy it for around 7-8£ in your local drugstore.

NARS Lose yourself !

This is a wonderful little piece. The set contains a blush and bronzer duo in the color angelika - which is a bright pink blush with golden glitters - and a bronzer in the color laguna - which is a mid brown bronzer with a golden shimmer too it. With the kit came a mini lip gloss in the color angelika, which again is a bright pink with glitters. You get 4,8 g blusher and 4,7 g bronzer (a total of 9,5 g) in a cute compact along with 3,7 g lip gloss.

The packaging is really nice. It's black, sleek packaging in a matte finish with NARS written in white letters across. It has a huge mirror inside which is a nice feature.  It closes secure and doesn't feel like it's going to open in your purse.

All in all a cute set for summertime. The bronzer gives a slight tint to your skin and the blusher gives a really natural glow to your cheeks. It doesn't look like too much (which I had sort of expected). The same with the gloss, it gives a cute summer look to the lips, but if you don't slather it on, it won't look like too much and as a HUGE plus, it is super moisturizing.

It's on sale on strawberrynet for 29€ down with 59% from 70€. You can get it here.

Soap and Glory - Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stik in Nudist

When I read i few reviews off these online, I was kind of worried that nudist would be too orangy for me. Even so, I really wanted to try these (and honestly I don't use much color on the lips during the day) so a decided to just go ahead.

First off, packaging. It is sleek, black and the lid doesn't come off that easily (being my huge problem with the MUA's gloss sticks). It's a twist up kind a thing, which is nice.

The color range isn't great. Nudist is the only, well, nude color in the range and I really like it! It's a sort of 'your lips but better' look, slightly rosy color in my opinion not orangy at all (thank god - cause orange and me don't get along). It has a slight shimmer to it (for the 3D effect that it promises I gues) but nothing too much when it's on the lips. I don't notice it at all.

Moisture.. It has lots! I find myself reaching for this just to moisture my lips at home.

All in all I find that this product is brilliant! It's got lots of moisture, subtle color (not orange) payoff which is fine for everyday use and packaging is good too.

The price is 9,54 £ at stephensons on ebay - more expensive than the MUA but soo much more better packaging which is well worth it in my book (who need 3 that melt in your bag and loose the lid, when you can have one that doesn't?).

FYI the picture with the lid off is a tad more pink than the actual color.

Enjoy! xoxo

Sleek Face Contour kit - light

I bought this little kit last week from ebay. Since I'm blonde and not very tan, I bought the light version (it comes in 3 - light, medium and dark).

I must admit I had no expectations to this kit, since I have never tried Sleek makeup before. But this is really really good. The bronzer is completely mat and the perfect color for contouring (not orangy). The highlight is very similar to Glow all out from soap and glory, only more cream toned than pink. But very fine milled, creamy and leaves you with a fine highlight.

The kit is smaller than I had expected, maybe the size off a credit card holder. Because it is so small, it's very compact. It's got a huge mirror (fills up the whole inside of the lid) and the bronzer and highlight really does use every milimeter available in the buttom.

All in all, a super great buy! Perfect for travel and summertime. It's so easy to fit into your purse, and looks super expensive for very little money. This is definately one to try. If the rest of their stuff is this good, then I shall have too try those as well.

Btw I bought this through Vanity Place on Ebay and they sent me this flyer, saying they offer a 15 % discount for new customers using the code: LOVEBEAUTY at cheekout. Thought you might like to know!

xoxo

Soap and glory Glow all out !

The title says it all. This is a finely milled baby pink illuminating powder. When I say illuminating what I mean is, so fine sparkles that it looks like a candle is shining on your face. It ads a really natural glow.

For someone like me, it’s perfect as a highlight. I’m not much for glitters and sparkles in general, but this makes the cut by being as natural looking as something like this can.

I swipe it on the high point of my cheekbones and browbone for a more natural looking highlight during the daytime.

The packaging is a bit weird (the usual soap and glory vintage picture isn’t the weird part btw). It’s a paper packaging which is why I have my doubts on how it’s going to hold over time. But we’ll see.

You get 9 grams (0,31 oz) for about 11-13 £ depending on where you buy it. I live in DK and I bought mine here. The delivery was really fast and easy. I definately recommend that seller, Stephensonsonline I think it was.

I tried to swatch it in the pic on the right, but that it one heavy load right there. On the skin it is much more suttle.

MUA Power pouts

I've bought 3 of these beauties. The darkest color - Crazy in love (on top in pics), a more pinkish color - Broken Hearted (middle in the pics) and the lightest shade supposedly a neautral - Rendezvous (in buttom in pics).

MUA have terrible online swatches of their colors. Rendezvous was the color that I find is the most 'unlike' the one online. Online it's supposed to be a neutral light brown color, in real life it's more of a peachy pink color.

Packaging: Terrible. The lid come off all the time, which is extremely annoying. It's plastic and feels really cheap.

The product: However is fantastic. It moisturizes really well and gives a natural wash of color. It has slights shimmers, but nothing overpowering.

The scent: It has a minty scent and feel to it. I like it, it's fresh and nice.

All in all, for the price, this is a really good product! If you can manage bad packaging, then this will be a lovely product.

MUA Every Lash mascara

There really isn't much to say about this. It's ok. Nothing new.

Packaging: Is a standart black plastic container with a shiny green lid. Nothing new.

Wand: This (and maybe the scent) is the only thing that's different with this mascara. The wand is extremely soft and bendy, which results in very natural looking lashes.

Scent: It smells like apples. That's strange and unnecessary.

Staying power: It stays around 8-10 hours, but you'll need to swipe your undereye a couple of times during summer time.

All in all, for 3£ it's a very decent product if you like your lashes to be very natural.

Battle of the palettes MUA

undress me too
Last time MUA had an 40% off offer I decided to try it out. From when I placed my order until now that I'm holding it, has been 20 days.. That's insane. Apparently they held back my package because they had sold out of the undressed palette  and I had ordered one. Without telling me they just gave me back my discounted money for the palette and send it too me. SO POOR service!

Heaven and earth
Anyways, I got the undressed  me too palette and the heaven and earth palette. Let me start of by saying that the shadows are all quite lovely - although the palette size is a lot smaller than I had thought. They are really pigemented and moist.

People  online keep talking about how much they smolder, I don't think they do? But I press my brushes into the shadow and don't swirl, maybe that's the difference?

Now about the two palettes.

Swatches: On top heaven and earth on buttom undress me too
Heaven and earth is palette full off deep warm brown colors, a few golden colors and light shimmery colors. It's pretty standart colors nothing I didn't have already.

The Undress me too is awesome. Although one color 'Naked' is really naked cause it doesn't show up (poor quality as with many mattes), the colors in this palette is more variated than the heaven and earth. The colors are a mix of cool toned brown/greys, a few golden, a black, and 2 matte go to colors. I love that they've given the colors names in this palette. Besides the naked I find all the remaining colors to be wonderful!

If I where to buy only one, it would probably be the undress me too.

Kerastase Chroma protect

I went by my local hairdresser a couple of weeks ago and found this on sale for 9£. So of course I had to try it out. It's a leave in cream to protect your hair and keep the color vibrant.
The difference from when I wear this and when I don't is significant! The core texture of my hair is much better. It feels so much stronger and healthy. This is basically a way too cheat your hair healthy! It's like botox for your hair..

What you do? I use an almond size of this all over my wet hair and then my Joico oil for the ends. Let it dry naturally and it leaves smooth long hair (well it doesn't really grow your hair longer) as a result.

It's a gel type formula and doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky or heavy in any way (when used on wet hair, note wet! Once I forgot it and tried it on damp hair.. It wasn't good). I have fine long hair and it works wonders!

Scent: It has a lovely floral scent to it. If your not one for any type of scent at all, then this might not be for you. This scent will linger through the day.

Will I recommend: Definately! If you've got damaged colored hair, this is the thing for you!

I think I'll pick the Nectar Thermique up next time, just to try it out.

xoxo

Dior Addict Extreme

I got my hands on a sample off this in the color 536 Lucky. It's a beautiful summer color!

It's a bright pinkish color, which I imagine will go great with a slight tan and a cute summer dress.

It very well moisturised. Some compare the Loreal Caresse lipsticks, but they do dry out on your lips after a while (though for a third of the price, they are pretty good).

The packaging is amazing for a sample though. It's sturdy, heavy and very expensive looking. So if you have some money to spend, this definately would be a good way to go. In full size it's 31 us dollars and can be found here.

Benefit Ms Behavin

This was the lipstick used on the vampires in the first twilight movie (Edward and Alice's lips). It's a deep purple color with beautiful blue glitters in it (don't worry, it won't show up). The glitters and the purple color will make your teeth look white (a big bonus) and applied with a finger first it'll add a beautiful hint of color on your lips.

Personally I love this color for winter/autum time.. It leaves a nice darker tint too your lips and looks gorgeous with a pretty 'made up' evening look.

The packaging is nice and heavy, feels expensive (which it kinda is, around 14£ I believe).

It moisturises really well and doesn't feel heavy at all. You can find it here.

You

e.l.f. beautybook - Smoky eye edition

This is sold out online. Yes, I apologise.. But I though that they might still have them in stores somewhere. So here's a quick swatch. Not all colors are worth something, and as you may be able to tell from the swatches, some crumble big time!

Swatches are starting at the buttom right corner of the palette and working it's way up ending with the white..

Ace of Face?

Ace of Face
This is a brand I stumbled over in this months GoodieBox. It's a new upcoming brand from Denmark. Their focus is making eyes the most beautiful they can be and in order to do so, they've launched a wonderfull series of mascaras and eyeliners. I got the Extra volume Premium No 1 to review here for you.

Packaging: It comes in a sleek black tube, with white text and lovely flowers on the lid. The plastic has a matte feel to it, but unlike others matte products, this doesn't fade in your makeup purse.

Scent: It doesn't smell like most high street mascaras - like plastic. It has a very fresh scent too it. Wonderful!

The brush
Use: It applies very well! It amazing. When I first saw the brush head I though it was going to make my lashes clump like insane, but the formula is really great. It adds tons of volume but with NO clumps.

Will I recommend it? Yes, most certainly. It definately a product worth trying out if you're ever in Denmark. They're chep (around 8£ for a mascara and 5£ for an eyeliner) considering how great a product you buy. You can get a hold of them here.

ELF goodies

Hi Beauties

Apparently I wasn't quite done making reviews for you guys today ;)

Recently I've bought myself some ELF goodies. I'm having a real cheek and lips period so of course I had to try the cream blush and conditioning lip balm!

First off the blush. It's the first from the right on the pic in the color 'heart breaker'. When it's in the pot it feels like a dough, but on the skin it blends really easy and like a mousse. It's a very true pink and perfect for those 'I've just been out running' looking cheeks. It stays on quite a while and reminds me a lot of Top Shops cream blush in Flush (only this is a bit more yellow/peach). I think they come in around 6,5£ (kind of expensive for ELF, but they are good).

The conditioning lip balm has an sph 15 (which is essential at this time of year) and is in the color 'Mellow melon'. It's second from left at the pic. The color is pretty close to the inside of a water melon so the name is quite fitting. Some people compare this to Korres Lip Butters.. I think they're quite right! The only thing I can point out where the Korres is better, is the smell. The ELF smells like a mixture of vanilla and .. clay? But this isn't really a big deal for me. So I will definately pic up some more of these! They come for around 3,75£ (a lot cheaper than Korres!)
.
Similar for the lip balm and the blush are the irritating glass jars. They are huge, square and not really glass. It's annoying and a huge minus. You can't bring them along in a small bag. Please ELF change the packaging!

The next three are there Hypershine Glosses. I have shown the colors (starting 3 from left): Vixen (no shimmer) - a true red, Berry cherry (no shimmer) - Your lips but better, Blossom (subtle sheen) - gives a nice suttle sheen and pink tint.
I LOVE these! I have for a long time.. They are easy with the twist up funktion, they give a nice easy tint (nothing too opaque - which I prefer). My biggest love is the Berry Cherry. It gives my lips just enough to look naturally pretty. And for 1,5£ ?! What's not to love?

Hope you love ELF as much as I do,

xoxo

YSL Touche Éclat foundation!

Hi Beauties

I've had the fortunate too try out the latest foundation from YSL. The touche éclat highlighter have been somewhat of a sensation to the world of beauty, so no wonder they expanded the line to a foundation as well.

The color range is quite wide but the color I got was number 30 Beige Rose.  It is supposed to be for lighter skin with a pinkish undertone. I don't feel like this is made for light skin at all! Blended out it helps, but it is still very dark. For summer it'll be okay maybe.. It doesn't oxidise - a bonus.

From the left: Clinique even better in 01 alabaster, MAC pro longwear NC 15, Rimmel Match perfection 100 Ivory, YSL Beige Rose 30, MAC face body NC 30

The scent is a fresh cucumber scent (this is my interpretation only), it feels really nice and smells wonderful.

The texture is light, easy to blend and fluid.

The illuminating part.. Well for someone with oily skin like me, this isn't a bonus. Some illuminating foundations make me look like I've taken a bath in oil. This unfortunately isn't an exception. I wanted to love this product, but after a couple of hours, I'm shining all over.

It doesn't come off easily - that's a bonus for someone like me who have trouble making foundations last!

All in all ? I think this will be a good foundation for dry skinned people who needs a bit of shine and have a lovely tan. But for me, it's way too dark and makes me shiny.

Battle of the Micellaire !

Hi beauties

As soo many others, I've been lured by the micellaire cleansing waters. One I was given in my goodiebox, the other I picked up at the beauty shop. I would love to have tried the Bioderma (sort of a cult favorite)

, but that's hard to get a hold of when you don't live in France.

The two competing products are Avéne's Lotion Micellaire and A-Derma Eau Micellaire.

Feel: First off, the big difference between the two are that the Avéne is a lotion water and A-Derma is a 'water' type only. Being a 'water lotion' the Avéne leaves your skin feeling more sticky than the A-Derma.

Scent: The Avéne has a more strong flowery smell too it, than the A-Derma which has a suttle pleasent scent.

How it works: I though I might take pictures too compare. The product I've removed is MAC Powerpoint eye pencil in Industry (which btw is a dark grey with mild glitters).

The far left is Avéne, the middle is A-Derma and the third is without any. As you may be able to tell, the A-Derma is far more effective in removing makeup.

Which do I recommend? For dry or mature skin the Avéne just because it is much more moisturizing, but for me it's the A-Derma definately! It works much better with my oily skin.

A new Pai love

Hi all beauty lovers

A few years ago I got really bad skin. That's left me with a few scars on my chin, some days it look alright, some days they look like purple little freckles. I've tried a lot of lightening products over the years, but nothing really worked enough or it broke my sensitive skin out.

About my skin: Impure, oily, scarring and impurities.

I've read a lot of reviews online and found Pai's Roseship BioRegenerate. So of course I had too try it out for myself.

What is Pai Roseship Regenerate oil?
It's an oil with high levels of trans-retinoic acid which boost the skins natural healing process. Plus it contains carotenoids that give it an orange look and help the skin look more radiant.
This oil is extracted by volcanically CO2 which helps to preserve the natural oils in the plant.

So all in all it's a pure oil containing pro-vitamin A, Carotenoids, omega 3,6,7 and 9 all designed too restore your skin and help the natural healing process.

What does it promise?
- Refine the appearance of damaged skin and fine lines
- Improves skin tone and texture
- Soothe damaged skin prone to irritation
- Works with dry, oily, youthful and mature

As a plus it's 99,8% organic ingredients, vegan, free off synthetic irritants and not tested on animals!

Does it work?
What you do is use a few drops (2-3) on your face and neck and go too sleep.

The last couple of days it's been absorbed quickly, doesn't stain anywhere, leave my skin looking radiant in the morning (I only use it at night) and somehow it hasn't irritated my skin - but actually helped against impurities!
Obviously I haven't used it enough to say anything about the scars. But I'll let you know in a couple of months.

I'm soo excited to try this and think it's already been worth the money just for making my skin so clear.

It's only around 15£ at beautybay.com which ship worldwide and for free!

Hope you all are doing well,

xoxo

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation ?

Let me start off by telling: I'm very pale skinned with a yellow undertone to it. My skin is very oily and sometimes makeup just slides off (always need a primer).
I find that it can be difficult for drugstore brands too make pale foundations (and even harder trying not to make them orange). For years I've been using MAC Pro Longwear foundation in NC 15, but it's a little more heavy in coverage than I need, so I though I might try something new.

There has been a lot of talking about the Rimmel foundation online lately and with good reason. Swatching it in the store it looked a bit orange, but blended out it looks beautiful. I would say it's a light to medium coverage. Not much more. But the smell is very lovely and clean - unlike my MAC one that smells odd.
On the skin it feels like you just put on a light moisturiser, you blend it out and woopti doo perfect skin. It applies really well and somehow - even though I'm a bit of a sceptic about this part - adapts too your skin tone see the pics below. But for the time being I'll have too say it works wonders.
The finish is very natural, but if you've got oily skin like me, you will need too use a matte powder on top.

The packaging is the old one? I think they've relaunched it with a blue cap or something - which means I got mine 50% off making it 5£.

Both blendet out
LEFT: MAC NC15, RIGHT: Rimmel Ivory
I swatched the ''wake me up'' one as well, but it's too glittery for my oily skin. If I need a little pick me up I'll prime my skin using my clarins beauty balm instead.

A perfect MAC Satin Taupe dupe?

Yesterday I discovered something that has been right under my nose for a very long time.. Satin Taupe by MAC is one of my all time favourite eyeshadow colors. As the name imply, it's a satin taupe color with a very light gold sheen too it. It's beautiful! But it is 12£ pr. shadow. That is a ridiculous amount off money - yes I am a student and therefore by definition ''poor''.
So being ''poor'' makes you wanna search and find alternatives, and yesterday that is what I found!

MF on the left, MAC on the right
One off my first shadows ever, was one of the Earth Spirits shadows from Maxfactor. Fantastic shadows for 6£ each (half the price off MAC and always on sale somewhere). It is the color Burnt Bark - a beautiful taupe color with satin fine shimmers.

Now, comparing the two colors I find them too be extremely similar! The only difference is that the MAC one has only a gold sheen too it, where the MF one has more off a fine shimmery finish and a slight nuance cooler than the Satin Taupe.
In texture they are both really similar as well. The MF one is a really good pigmented shadow right up there with MAC (I might not repurchase satin taupe anymore!).

The picture shows the color a bit more reddish brown than the colors really are in natural light - they are a slight nuance more cool toned. They look pretty similar don't you think?

Rimmel 1000 kisses

What a product! I had an idea that this would be drying and flaky, but boy was I wrong!

Lets break it down:

The product: This product consist of two things. A marker like lip color and a balm. Color first, then you apply the balm..

It comes in several amazing colors. I chose four.

From the left: Stay very berry, 500 unstoppable red (which I just had to try on my lips as soon as I got home), perpetual plum and last but not least forever walnut.

My favourite is the unstoppable red. It's a classic true red! It's beautiful!

It stays on for hours and hours, even after eating.
Scent: It has a light fruity scent that lingers for a little while and then disappears.

The packaging: Isn't very pretty. It differs according to the color you choose. The end with the color have a pop lid which is nice and tight. The end with the balm however, fell out, when I swatched it in the store! I'm really not liking the balm end, but if it becomes too much trouble I'll just transfer it to a pot and bring that with me.

All in all? This is great products if you like an opaque color layer on your lips that stays on. They aren't drying in any way.
The price comes round 7£ and definately worth it!

xoxo
